Discredit Conservatives Deemed Insufficiently Loyal

For decades, conservative media has indoctrinated their base to trust increasingly disreputable and extreme right-wing sources of information over reputable mainstream or liberal news outlets. This insulates them from true negative stories about Republicans while they are regularly fed false or misleading stories about Democrats.

But what happens when these conservative sources stray from right-wing narratives and start telling inconvenient truths that makes their base uncomfortable? You can't have that! To combat pesky truths, right-wing conservative media and Republican politicians will gang up to discredit the conservative source. Common examples include calling them "RINOs" or accuse them of siding with liberals when they take a rational position on an issue counter to the right-wing narrative. Dare to tell the truth as a conservative and you will feel the wrath of right-wing Republicans and media outlets.
