Jan 24, 2026U.S. citizen Alex Jeffrey Pretti was shot ten times at point blank range by an ICE agent killing him despite posing no threat and exerting no resistance.- An agent escalates the situation by oddly yelling "He has a gun!" which is legal in Minnesota. That legally permitted handgun was taken from him beforehand clearly in view of the person who shot him.

- A physician witnessed the murder of Alex Pretti from his apartment window and gave testimony on what he saw. When he arrived, he noticed ICE agents just stood around "counting his bullet wounds" so he performed standard practices including checking for a pulse, moving him on his back, and doing CPR. - One agent was observed clapping seemingly actually celebrating after the man was shot and later mockingly said to people protesting his death, "boo hoo."

When she called him out for it, they laughed and said they were going to let her go but now changed their mind and left her crying and hyperventilating sitting on the ground in handcuffs for a while.
- An ICE agent returned and pulled her up so forcefully that she fainted and was left flat down on the pavement without agents rendering any help. When she awoke, agents laughed and said "see, she's faking."

- When they arrived at a facility, they made him stand in the cold until he consented to a face scan which did not work, and they further refused requests for water, medical attention and to warm his hands.

Despite leaving to deescalate the situation as instructed, CBP agents followed him driving recklessly including briefly into oncoming traffic and the CBP agent driving tried repeatedly to ram his van egged on by his fellow agents who described the pursuit as "fun" and "great." And in further disregard to public safety one exclaimed, "he’s gonna get shot is what’s gonna happen."
