Mary (Kate McKinnon) reprimands a woman employee for wearing an overly revealing unbuttoned shirt in an office environment. But the woman wants to wear the shirt that way and she thanks Mary's boss Josh when he allows for an exception. Jeremy (Rob Corddry) also accuses Mary of body shaming her when she says that some people may find her shirt offensive.
Overly PC HR director Kate McKinnon wears a "multi denominational" holiday sweater that includes "Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the Buddhist Day of Enlightenment". She later clarifies that their Christmas party is a "nondenominational holiday mixer."
Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon) is depicted as overly sensitive towards labeling people with the term "freak" after Virgil and Turk each say, "freak out."
Staff Aside
This minor light scene discounts normal concerns about labeling people with an example that satirizes real concerns with Linus being overly concerned about something mistaken. It's very subtle but still a "political correctness" dig.
Droz tells Tom that a group of women are not women but "Womanysts". They are depicted as over the top radical feminists who don't know how to have fun.
One exchange, "You dated a white male?" explained as being a freshman which was corrected as "Freshperson, please!". Another woman calls a man a "cock man oppressor!" They also lead a protest where they walk in circles beating drums chanting, "This penis party's got to go".
Later they go to a party hosted by the "cool" anti-PC protagonists when a male student asks, "What's up, babes?" One woman replies, "Pack up your rape culture and take a hike!" The man is friendly in contrast and offers them beers which they eventually accept. And then one woman realizes about men, "It's like, if you're nice to them, they bring you things?"
Protesting is criticized throughout the movie and eventually the protagonists start a "we're not going to protest" counterprotest.
As Droz shows Tom around campus he says, "See those girls? No, you don't. Those are women. Call them girls and they'll pop your face."
The school is depicted as so overly politically correct that nobody has parties. Droz says, "the majority of students today are so cravenly PC, they wouldn't know a good time if it was sitting on their face, but there's one thing that will always unite us and them. They're young. They may not realize it yet. They've got the same raging hormones, the same self-destructive desire to get boldly trashed and wildly out of control. Look out that window! That's not a protest! That is cry for help! They're begging us...Please have a party! Feed us drinks!"
College president Garcia-Thompson is depicted as an over-the-top liberal foil who takes political correctness to extreme levels.
