Republicans play dirty when it comes to politics, and so it's natural for them to spread lies and smears about fellow conservatives as well as liberals. But it is also just as natural and common in today's GOP for Republicans to be guilty of said things as well.
So how do you handle cases where notable conservatives accuse other notable conservatives of wrongdoing with little or no collaboration? If someone makes a claim in court or in a tell-all book, how trustworthy is it? There are so many examples of conservative books full of ridiculous claims, lies, smears and conspiracy theories against liberals with dubious "sources" that are clearly made up or lying.
When any tell-all book by a conservative attacks liberals, it is very hard to trust the information and sources. But when attacking fellow conservatives, unverified allegations are much more likely to be true.
We track the infighting and accusations by conservatives that do not have enough collaboration to warrant a story in a mainstream newspaper. There is a scandal, but we are not certain whether the scandal is the actual wrongdoing alleged or defamation. In most cases, we personally believe the former especially when it comes to accusations of assault made by women against men. But you can't trust Republicans and it is not beneath them to make up stories and smear fellow conservatives as well.
So here we list notable accusations and infighting ("political muckraking") from the right until or unless they can be verified and moved to another scandal category.
